That only skllz can provide a good English speaking
teachers. What I find troubling is that many in the profession assume language
proficiency to be tantamount to being a good English teacher, trivializing many
other important factors such as experience, qualifications and personality. Some
learned English as children; other's learning it as adults. Some learned it
prior to coming to the United Kingdom; others learned it after their arrival. Native
English
speaking teachers without teaching qualifications is more likely to be
hired as ESL teachers than qualified and experienced, especially outside the
United Kingdom While proficiency might be a necessity and schools should ensure
that both the prospective native and nonnative English teachers can provide a
clear and intelligible English speaking teachers.
